报告内容简介:
In today’s globalized environment, manufacturing and
designing companies compete for business to be successful.Companies need
to practice strategies that minimize the possibility of degradation of product
quality, cost overrun, schedule slippage, customer dissatisfaction and system
development failures. Systems
engineering is needed from small to large and complex projects.A project comprises of different experts in
various disciplines. How they can work
together to produce a seamless integrated quality product is a challenge. Practicing systems engineering well is the answer. In this seminar you will learn why do we need
systems engineering, the systems engineering fundamentals including
Requirements Analysis and Development, Functional Analysis and Allocation,
Design Decision Analysis based on requirements; Risk Management throughout the
development and design cycle; Integrated Master Plan/Integrated Master Schedule
and Work Breakdown Structure for development and design management; Technical
Performance Measurement for measuring, tracking and validating design; Interface
Management across in-house disciplines, supplier, and customer; and
Verification and Validation to prove the right system built and the system
built right. The importance of systems engineering will be introduced as well as
briefly the fundamentals, followed by discussing the advances in systems
engineering research, such as, system-of-systems engineering, sociotechnical
systems, resilience systems, and SysML modeling, etc.

Dr. John Hsu has more than 40 years of diversified experience in
Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear
Engineering, Software Development and Engineering Management. He is the first one to implement and
establish systems engineering process for The Boeing Airlift And Tanker
Programs. Dr. Hsu is a world pioneer and pre-eminent systems engineering
expert. In his more than 40 years of
industrial experience out of which 30 years in aerospace industry. A majority
time was in Boeing Company working as technical manager, functional manager,
project manager and principal senior technical advisers. Currently, He is Adjunct Professor at
California State University at Long Beach, the University of California at
Irvine (UCI) Systems Engineering Certification Program, Lecturer of American
Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) Professional Development
Courses, Editor-in-Chief of "Advances in Systems Engineering", a
progressive series book, Associate Editor for AIAA Journal of Aircraft, and
President of System Engineering and Management Consulting Services. He has been hired as Royal Academy of
Engineering Visiting Professor in UK and Netherlands, Honorary Professor of
Queens University in UK. Dr. Hsu is an
AIAA Fellow, a prestigious honor for persons of distinction who have made
notable and valuable contributions to systems engineering. He is also INCOSE ESEP, a Senior Level
Systems Engineering Certification awarded by International Council on Systems
Engineering (INCOSE). He has published
two books and more than 40 papers (most of his career is in high technology
industry which publication is discouraged due to proprietary and clearance
reasons). Dr. Hsu holds Ph.D. in
Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, M.S. in Nuclear Engineering, M.S. in
Mechanical Engineering, and a registered Professional Engineer.
